Dear Friends,

What a summer it has been! Five great camps filled with campers worshiping God, listening to His Word and being challenged by excellent speakers! Spiritual renewal, repentance and the presence of the Lord were highlights of chapel times. With unusual object lessons, videos and vivid verbal imagery, campers laughed, cried and allowed God to touch their hearts and change their lives.

Of course campers had the days filled with an array of activity choices:swimming, fishing, tubing, water trampoline, the blob, canoeing, windsurfing, kayaking, go carts, archery, paint ball, crafts, evening games that ranged from messy to challenging and much more. The days were fun filled and busy, but very fulfilling!

Once again our staff did an outstanding job serving your children. They worked tirelessly making sure things went smoothly and efficiently and always with a smile! Cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, hauling trash, vacuuming, food prep, whatever was asked of them they did cheerfully and with a glad heart!

Our counselors and activity staff also did an amazing job every day. Campers have their counselors, two per cabin, with them throughout camp. They are always available to their campers - they play with them, make sure they're safe and getting enough to eat and always have an ear ready to listen. The activity director was truly amazing - each evening was filled with adventurous games and loads of fun. We had carnivals, Western and Hawaiian nights and pirates showed up on the 4th of July- ship and all!

Now, we have come to a crossroads in our camp ministry. The camp we rent will only give us thee weeks next summer. This is not a long enough time to do five camps. It would leave us with having to delete two camps next summer. We can't see doing that at all - how would you choose? As most of you know we have been searching for a location to purchase to have our own camp and stop depending on renting. In the past we have looked at several properties of interest, but the prices have always been way out of reach. Recently, however, we have found a beautiful 40 acres site between McGregor and Atkin. It is covered with mature trees, on beautiful Rock Lake, 438 feet of shoreline, and would be perfect for a camp. It has a 4,000 sq. ft. home which we would convert into a lodge. It's the same distance from the city as the camp that we now rent. The price is amazing - the most affordable we have seen or found.

We believe it is time for Higher Destiny Ministries to have our own camp facility. A camp and retreat center would allow us to expand our programs to run throughout the year.

If camp has meant something to your child and to you, now is the time to lend a hand in helping us acquire this property. We spoke with a consultant by phone a few years ago about purchasing property or a camp. He said unless you have an individual with large sums of money, it won't happen. We thought about that for a few moments and then something arose in our hearts. God isn't looking or depending on one or two individuals with large quantities of money to accomplish His will. He uses regular people, like you and us to pray and push through to see His will and heart to come to pass. Through our faithfulness and generosity, God does the unbelievable! He uses all of us to make things happen. We're doing all we know how to do - will you help us?

We would like to submit a purchase agreement for the property very soon. The realtor, who is a believer, called and said another party is looking at the property for a second time. It's beautiful, more than adequate and the price is right.
